Podcasts: University Lectures

Here's something that turns me on...university lecture podcasts that you can subscribe to.  Many top universities are offering the lectures from select courses to the public via podcast.  Some you can just listen to the audio, while others offer the video of the lecture as well.  You can visit the course's website to find out what the reading material is in order to really get into it.  Of course, no credits are offered, but that also means that you don't have to write the papers and take the tests either.  I find myself interested in courses I never would have taken in school like physics and anatomy.  It would also be helpful for prospective students to give them a taste of the material.

New additions to my podcasting list.

I don't know how many of you listen to podcasts on your computers or Mp3 players, but here's a few more that I am listening to and would recommend checking out. 

• The Prosperity Show   - tips and techniques for improving your relationship with money.  It has some good tips, alot like Suze Orman's stuff
• Paste Culture Club -weekly indie music, film, culture show from my favorite music magazine.  Lots of good tunes, interviews and reviews.
• Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me -weekly radio trivia show that covers current events.  Very funny, but US-centric.
• To The Best of Our Knowledge - audio documentaries and interviews on interesting topics.

Museums & Podcasts

Some museums across the U.S. have begun to use podcasts to draw in visitors and give them a first-class tour for an affordable price.  The idea is essentially that visitors can download a walking tour for a museum that they can listen to on their MP3 player while they peruse the exhibits.  Often the tour is given by the curator or celebrity voice-over.  Some museums even offer tours given by another visitor giving their interpretation.  Brillant idea with many applications.
